Spiritual Eyes

God is always working. “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) So, even when you don’t see God working - He is! Many people ask, “If God is all powerful why doesn’t he prevent evil?” Actually He will. At the right time all evil will cease and true justice will prevail. However, in the meantime, “The whole world is under the control of the evil one.” (1 John 5:19) With the exception of those who love God and are called by God. We know the dark nights will eventually turn into a new day. While we wait, we are given the precious privilege of seeing things through spiritual eyes.

For so long, Jesus’ first miracle of turning water into wine seemed so insignificant to me. However, I’ve learned there is so much more to it. Such as the servants perspective. Jesus asked them to fill six jars, about 20 to 30 gallons each, with water. They filled them to the brim. Then He told them to draw some and bring it to the master. Who asked why the best wine was saved for last. The master, “Did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.” (John 2:9) It’s the same situation today. The world will be oblivious to the works of God. They will continue to be swayed by the evil one. But God’s servants will know the truth. Those of us who are close to Jesus will have our eyes opened to see the hidden things of God.

It doesn’t matter what you see in the world around you or what your feel - He is working for your good. Have faith! Pray you won’t be blind, but able to see all things with spiritual eyes.
