Your Influence

A friend and I will share our struggles to encourage one another. She surprised me the last time we met. She has always been a stay-at-home wife and mother. A good one. But she is questioning if that is enough. I learned that these thoughts started after a conversation with someone who highlighted their successful career. She said it had her feeling insecure. I couldn’t believe it. How could she not know that she is enough! She is exactly what her family needs. As well as a bright light shining God’s love in and out of her home for all to see. What about you? Do you know the great power of your influence?

This world lies to women. Telling us that a career will fulfill us. Ask any working woman if this is true. It’s not. Our true satisfaction comes from the highest calling God gave us as a wife and mother. There are exceptions, but generally speaking this is what we were created for. To help our husbands and to mother. Therefore, our homes must be our top priority. This may mean stepping off the fast track to success. Or maybe accepting a lower standard of living for a time. Whatever it takes to honor God in building our home and raising our family. As C.S. Lewis so wisely stated, “Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.” Let’s have no regrets. Let’s stand tall, not prideful, just fully and completely confident in our very important positions of influence.
