Show Me How
Do you have compassion for others? I think most of us feel for innocent people. For those struggling or persecuted. We definitely feel for the precious children who are being influenced and indoctrinated with evil. But does it stop there? Because Jesus calls us much higher. He said, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:4) Seriously? Love the oppressors and perpetrators! These promoters of wicked things make me furious. I want to hate them, but God is calling us to love them and pray for them. How can I see them as God does? As people made in His image who are participating in evil. God, show me how.
Many live in darkness. They fight hard against the light of the world. The very thing that they desperately need. What if we who are living in the light acknowledge the real adversary. “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12) This is much more serious than our earthly enemies. We must be on guard to not be deceived and pulled into hating others. Yes, hate the wicked sin but not the human made by God. Don’t mix the two. We are all sinners who once walked in darkness, but are offered the gift of salvation. This is also offered to even the worst oppressors and perpetrators. As we walk in the grace God gave us we need to extend it to others. God, show me how.
