Do you Accept
Let’s say you commit a crime that has you standing before a judge. Your convicted. He gives you your punishment and it’s horrible. Then instantly a man walks in and says, “Your honor - I will take their punishment.” This man’s name is Jesus. He walks over to you and says, “Do you accept me to take on the punishment for your wrongdoing?” The good news is that the honorable judge will accept that this innocent man will sacrifice himself for you. Again, the question for you was do you accept? By accepting this incredible gift you get to go live and be free. This Jesus has become your savior.
Our sins, no matter what they may be separate us from God and result in eternal punishment. Eternal death and eternal separation from God. I don’t want to sounds all brim stone and fire, but it is going to be bad. The good news is a loving God offers each of us compassion. He paid it all for us and all we have to do is accept.
We don’t know exactly what happened in the spiritual realm when he died on that cross, but it was powerful. History tells us the moment Jesus died the earth shook. There is physical evidence of that severe earth quake. Also, everything went dark. Although the sun was in the sky, the earth was literally dark. History shows it was for hours, which is much longer than a possible solar eclipse. There is no scientific explanation on how this could have happened. To me it’s obvious there was a battle between good and evil and Jesus won. He literally defeated death and through him we can too. Witnesses recorded seeing Jesus after his death. He appeared alive to more than 500 people on 12 occasions.
Jesus is alive. You can accept his offer and be alive with him. He is a living redeemer.
